Product description

The Cross of Caravaca, also commonly called by its Spanish name, Caravaca de la Cruz, is a symbol rich in historical significance, devotional potency, and practical ritual power. Whether used an image for devotion, as a protective sigil or charm, an amulet or talisman, or any other number of spiritual practices, the legendary cross is beloved by spiritually minded individuals of many walks, cultures, and belief systems. The Caravaca Cross with double cross bar, body of Christ, and two angels takes its name from Caravaca, Spain, a town in the province of Murcia. The Cross is a popular religious symbol in Mexico and is said to be the first Christian cross to be brought into the country. Many believe the cross has special powers to grant wishes and prayers. Caravaca de la Cruz, in Murcia, (meaning Caravaca of the Cross) in southern Spain, is one of the five Holy Cities of the world. It has been venerated since the 13th Century when the first pilgrimage took place, and this continues to the present day. People use the Cruz de Caravaca as a pocket charm, rosary, pendant, necklace or earrings to attract good fortune and ward off the Mal de Ojo or evil eye. The Caravaca Cross is often given as a gift to pass on its blessings for many occasions: for someone traveling, or about to take an exam, and often given as a get well gift. It can say I'm Sorry, or Thank You, or just Best Wishes; such as for an anniversary, birthday, christening or communion gift.
